As we are all aware of the current events; we thought it would be a good moment to reflect on our recent homecoming gig at Chinnery’s in Southend.
This show was very important to us as it symbolised the importance of our journey as a Depeche Mode tribute and also paying homage to the boys in the place where the legend began.
Once our backdrop was up and the sound check finished; we watched with glee as the room filled up with devotees eager to see what we had on offer; we weren’t going to disappoint them. We had a 24 song strong set ready.
Our good friends Subject:2 warmed the crowd up and then it was showtime! And what an amazing night it was. The crowd was loud and proud from the get go and we had immense fun going through each track. The reception to the new tracks we’ve thrown in; such as Fly On The Windscreen, was amazing and the buzz created by performing Waiting For The Night, was fantastic.
We didn’t want to stop, we didn’t want to leave. We know we are creating something special with the power of the people coming to see us.
Yes; currently we are on hold due to the obvious. But this won’t quell our spirit and we know it won’t quell yours either.
Stay Safe, Stay Well and Stay Home because when this chaos is over. The Devout is ravenous, starving and yearning to put on a Depeche Mode show that you all deserve for putting up with such tough times.
