‘I can taste, more than feel…’

We kicked off our first Devotional show on Friday 8th of September at o2 Academy Islington and what an amazing experience it was. Firstly, we had the honour and privilege of playing this set for an audience of avid Depeche Mode fans and secondly, we got our first taste of what these new songs were like to play live.

‘You’ll stumble in my footsteps…’

It was a true spine-tingling experience to listen to the Higher Love intro get played out and watch and listen as the atmosphere and excitement built. But this song was not the only treat, as only a few songs later, we got to play Condemnation, a very precious song that we have been working on as we had the superb voices of Lara and Emily from The Australian Pink Floyd providing breath-taking backing vocals and visuals on our projections.

‘Moved… lifted higher….’

It was also an amazing thrill to perform ‘Rush’ and feel the pulse of that song ripple throughout the venue. Not only that, but we also got to debut our Devotional versions of other tracks such as ‘World in my eyes’, ‘Behind The Wheel’, ‘Everything Counts’ and ‘Fly On The Windscreen’.

Our Keith enjoying the audience participation

We have more of these shows planned both in 2023 and 2024. So, what are you waiting for? Get over to our live dates page and book your tickets! https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/live-gigs-tickets/

Putney Half Moon Postponement https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/putney-half-moon-postponement/ Fri, 21 Jan 2022 15:33:52 +0000 https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/?p=2503 A statement from The Devout

It is with the heaviest of hearts that our gig this Saturday 22nd January 2022 at The Half Moon Putney has been postponed to Friday 17th June 2022.

Facebook Event here

This follows our lead singer testing positive for Coronavirus and, under government guidance, having to self-isolate.

This is not a situation we hoped we’d ever be in and a decision that we do not take lightly, in every sense of the word. We understand many people were looking forward to seeing us and we were just as much looking forward to playing; however, we cannot put the health of anyone at risk.

We are extremely sorry to all those who had made travel/accommodation plans.

Our heart is breaking.

The ticket agent will be in touch via email with all the details and options available tomorrow.

We would also like to stress that The Half Moon will still be fully open on Saturday and ready to give you a warm welcome. So if you can pop in for a drink, do. Our venues need all the support they can get right now.

Please be aware that this announcement only affects this show and not any future shows.

With all our love and apologies,

Barclay, Reza, Keith and Glen…

The Devout Headline Pride Festival https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/the-devout-headline-pride-festival/ Thu, 02 Sep 2021 10:33:24 +0000 https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/?p=2444 Playing Pride was one of the biggest honours we could have been bestowed. Ending the weekend was a dream come true.

The day was a packed out affair with Barclay, Reza and Keith descending on the seaside town in the early afternoon in different cars.

Hasting Pride 2021 logo tape cassette

Parking at the back of the stage we spend most of the day chatting with performers and seeing the event from behind the stage, before venturing out into the lively Hastings crowd and sampling the best of culture from the South’s LGBT community.

The day was a lot busier than the running order would lead you to believe with Pride organisers going out of their way to present a truly exciting, relaxing and fun day. And best of all it was free.

Depeche Mode Tribute Reza Udhin, Keith Trigwell and Barclay Quarton

We hit the stage a little late due to one artist overrunning, but it didn’t dampen the crowds spirits too much and when we unleashed the opening bars to Personal Jesus the crowd lit up.

After a quick but extremely punchy set we felt we had arrived, particularly being congratulated by the stage crew, managers and sound engineers. A great day and a fabulous cause.

Glasgow Depeche Mode https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/glasgow-depeche-mode/ Wed, 18 Aug 2021 13:59:21 +0000 http://depechemodetribute.co.uk/?p=2432 Well we hit Glasgow with all our might last Saturday and hammered out a beauty of a depeche mode tribute gig to a very enthusiastic Scottish crowd at Audio

depeche mode tribute with video screens

Lets just say we were as nervous as you could imagine after the lockdown and coming back with such an enhanced show as a three piece. Lots of variables.

Drive, logistics and setup were also a challenge, especially with a replacement engineer just hours before doors opened.. But as you would expect the venue, promoter and ourselves were thoroughy prepared an did what we always do.

Its great to see just how loved Depeche Mode are and what an honour it is for us to be playing those tracks.

Its great to be back

Please join us in giving congratulations and well wishes to Glen and Louise and they will be sure to see you all again soon.

The world we live in and live at Hoxton https://depechemodetribute.co.uk/the-world-we-live-in-and-live-at-hoxton/ Mon, 26 Jul 2021 20:36:27 +0000 http://depechemodetribute.co.uk/?p=2419

For 14 months, the pandemic forced our world to go dark. Knowing the amazing energy we felt at the end of our show at Southend in March 2020, it felt like our world had ground to a halt. This was pain, not only felt by us but every single person involved in the arts around the world.

But we did not take the time out to feel sorry for ourselves. Each Devout member pulled together to see what we could do to improve, innovate and enlarge our show so that, when the time came, we’d be ready, bigger and better than before. And we worked hard.

Therefore, when the opportunity arose to test out our new show in Colours at Hoxton, we grasped at the opportunity.

The evening performance quickly sold out and we were buzzing, waiting to unleash our new visual and audio experience on some very hungry Depeche Mode fans.

We are happy to say that they were not disappointed and neither were we. Although the atmosphere was more restrained than what we were used to, the amazing and appreciative crowd were with us from the first note to the last. Not only did we get to play new songs in the set, but we also treated the audience to a plethora of bespoke projections we had filmed. This was all received to a rapturous reception.

One gig goer commented: “Such a great night! Was meant to see the Devout back in April last year but was postponed due to covid, so this was my first time seeing them, and I was very impressed! The band members all pulled off their original DM characters really well, especially Martin with his solo performances. The songs were unmistakable yet with a slight twist, and the added video backdrop was a great feature! Perfect little venue for this sit down event, and a nice warm up for the main event in October, which will hopefully be a proper concert… Band members were all very approachable afterwards and happy to hang out and chat. Highly recommended!”

Another said: “I know we’ve been in lockdown so might be starved of live
music lol but this was a great night at a great venue with an excellent band….
Everything about this night was a joy.”

And now our attention turns to August. In Glasgow. Where we finally get to unleash our Violator show to kick start our tour once again.

We can’t wait.
